Regole universali per nominare file e cartelle

Il nome di un file è composto da 2 parti, divise dal punto:

nome.estensione

  • nome: prima del punto, descrive il contenuto del file.
  • estensione: dopo il punto e solitamente di 3 lettere, identifica il tipo di file e quale software è in grado di gestirlo. 

IMPORTANTE: Su Windows la visualizzazione delle estensioni è disabilitata di default. Per vedere l'estensione dei file e quindi gestirli correttamente, occorre aprire una cartella qualsiasi, scegliere dal menu "strumenti > opzioni cartella > visualizzazione" e disattivare la voce "nascondi estensione per i tipi di file conosciuti".

Esempi di nomi corretti di file:

  • nome_del_file.estensione -> con il trattino basso (underscore) al posto degli spazi.

  • NomeDelFile.estensione -> senza spazi, vengono usate le maiuscole per dare leggibilità.

Esempi di nomi scorretti di file:

  • nome_del_file.estensione.estensione -> doppia estensione! Succede quando l'opzione "nascondi estensione per i tipi di file conosciuti" è attiva. V. nota in alto per disabilitarla.

  • nome del file.estensione -> con spazi. Il file può diventare illeggibile con alcuni sistemi o se linkato su internet.

  • nome_del_file_data.estensione -> a meno che non si tratti di diverse "versioni" dello stesso file, non serve mettere la data nel nome. Le date di creazione, ultima modifica e ultimo accesso a un file vengono memorizzate automaticamente nelle sue proprietà.
